Our final prototype utilizes a multipurpose Velcro strap which can be taken off and on the mouthwash, allowing for every part of the product to be replaceable. Compared to prototype 4 which has a similar appearance, prototype 5 allows for the addition of floss.

To make the final prototype, we cut holes in the Velcro strap around the mouthwash and threated separate Velcro loops to create placeholders for objects.

Upon creating and testing prototypes 1 and 2, we noted some key issues as well as improvements to be made for our next round of prototypes. Among these issues, the main focuses became stability and structure, ease of use (how easily our user can obtain each item), and visual appeal.

Prototype 3 is similar to prototype 2, but instead of using tape we opted for Velcro to allow for users to replace the toothbrush and toothpaste. it offers more stability as we used plastic glue bonder.

Prototype 4 is more visually appealing than other prototypes, but lacks floss. It offers a more seamless strap, however, and allows for the mouthwash to be replaced if needed.

Prototype 0

Prototype 0 uses the toothbrush as a base and tape to hold floss and mouthwash behind the toothbrush, and tape made pouch to hold the toothpaste. This prototype was not durable, and was very uncomfortable to use. We discovered early that using the toothbrush as the base provided for little stability overall, and we thus pushed more towards the mouthwash base.

Prototype 1 uses the head of a toothbrush fitted into the hole of the Gatorade bottle cap. The inside of the Gatorade bottle is filled with mouthwash, which users can unscrew the cap to access.

Prototype 2 showcases a smaller build with the toothbrush now being taped to the side of the bottle. This prototype introduces floss as well which is glued on the bottom, and has mouthwash inside.

Here we have our group Gantt chart. A Gantt chart is a visual representation of our group’s progress and expected deadlines, this will be managed and upheld by the timekeeper to ensure that we adhere to all of the deadlines and stay on track with the progress of our project. As a group, we can refer to the chart individually whenever we have a question or concern about our progress.

My name is Michael Veliz and I’m currently studying Electrical Engineering at George Mason University. As Head-Tester, I am in charge of testing our prototypes and ensuring they are up to standard.

My name is Gabriel Brinza, a freshman at George Mason University. I am currently majoring in Cyber Security Engineering. As Co-Builder, I am in charge of envisioning our prototypes and seeing them to completion as well as procuring materials.
